The Mariposa port of entry sits west of downtown Nogales and opened in 1973 to divert truck traffic from the Grand Avenue crossing. It now handles nearly all commercial traffic in the area and is the largest U.S. entry point for fresh produce from Mexico, over 4 billion pounds a year. Passenger vehicles cross here too.
