The Colombia bridge connects Laredo, Texas, with Colombia, in the municipality of Anáhuac, Nuevo León, about 247 km (153 miles) north of Monterrey. It opened in 1992 and is the only crossing between Nuevo León and Texas. It carries commercial trucks, passenger vehicles and pedestrians, and on the Laredo side it feeds State Highway 255, which bypasses downtown and connects to I-35.
